Ultra-pure hydrogen production via ammonia decomposition in a catalytic membrane reactor

چکیده
In this work two alternatives are presented for increasing the purity of hydrogen produced in a membrane reactor ammonia decomposition. It is experimentally demonstrated that either thickness selective layer or using small purification unit permeate membranes, ultra-pure can be produced. Specifically, results show above 6 μm obtained at pressures below 5 bar. A cheaper solution, however, consists use an adsorption bed downstream reactor. way, achieved with higher pressures, lower temperatures and thinner which result costs. possible process diagram also reported showing regeneration done by exploiting heat available system thus introducing no additional sources.

Hydrogen Production from Ammonia Using Plasma Membrane Reactor
In this study, an efficient method for using pulsed plasma to produce hydrogen from ammonia was developed. An original pulsed plasma reactor with a hydrogen separation membrane was developed for efficient hydrogen production, and its hydrogen production performance was investigated. Hydrogen production in the plasma was affected by the applied voltage and flow rate of ammonia gas. The maximum h...
متن کاملDecomposition of hydrogen peroxide in a catalytic fluidized-bed reactor
The decomposition of H2O2 by a novel supported g-FeOOH catalyst was performed in a continuous fluidized-bed reactor. This catalyst has been successfully used in the treatment of organic contaminants with H2O2 in our previous work. In this study, we attempted to determine the effects of pH, H2O2 concentration, and catalyst concentration on the decomposition of H2O2. An approach, we regarded this...

Catalytic Ammonia Decomposition over High-Performance Ru/Graphene Nanocomposites for Efficient COx-Free Hydrogen Production
Highly-dispersed Ru nanoparticles were grown on graphene nanosheets by simultaneously reducing graphene oxide and Ru ions using ethylene glycol (EG), and the resultant Ru/graphene nanocomposites were applied as a catalyst to ammonia decomposition for COx-free hydrogen production. Tuning the microstructures of Ru/graphene nanocomposites was easily accomplished in terms of Ru particle size, morph...
متن کاملCatalytic ammonia decomposition: COx-free hydrogen production for fuel cell applications
Catalytic decomposition of ammonia has been investigated as a method to produce hydrogen for fuel cell applications. The absence of any undesirable by-products (unlike, e.g., COx , formed during reforming of hydrocarbons and alcohols) makes this process an ideal source of hydrogen for fuel cells. In this study a variety of supported metal catalysts have been studied. Supported Ru catalysts were...
